Tim hussey is an artist with a rich history, cycling through multiple mediums over a 30-year span. while attending Rhode Island School of Design, his photography instructor, Henry Horenstein, introduced him to documentary photography, which became tim’s most gratifying means of illustrating his core vision—how he looked at life and how he related to people. HE ALSO FOUND MATT MAHURIN’S “PHOTOGRAPHS” AT THE SCHOOL BOOKSTORE, WHICH SINGLE-HANDEDLY SHAPED HIS FOREBODING SENSE OF THE UNKNOWN IN HIS PHOTOGRAPHS. THIS STYLE BECAME A SIGNATURE ACROSS ALL MEDIUMS. HOLDING PHOTOGRAPHY AS STRICTLY A PERSONAL JOY, tim went on to become a commercially successful and award-winning editorial illustrator and art director. in 2000, He pivoted his primary focus to contemporary painting and established himself internationally as a fine artist. Never forgetting that photography was the only medium he enjoyed without struggle, he maintained a personal body of work throughout his career. As an art director, he NOW dove-tails into commercial photography as needed, giving him an expansive portfolio of editorial and documentary images. HE LIVES IN CHARLESTON, SC WITH HIS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS.
